In Boston there is a trail called "Freedom Trail", which leads you to all the nice & old buildings of the city marked by a red line on the street. Here's the Paul Revere House.

This is the over-night train I took from Washington up to here. It took about 8 - 9 hours...It was not that comfy, but it was the most efficient way to get there...
